The Boy Scout Handbook

One of my favorite books growing up was a copy of the Boy Scout Handbook. I believe it belonged to my brother, Curt, who may or may not have ever been a Scout. I certainly wasn't a Scout, but I found the book fascinating. It covered everything from how to pitch a tent to how to stop bleeding using a tourniquet.

There is quite a long chapter on camping, and in that chapter is a section on camp cooking. No mention is made on how on to keep perishables from spoiling, which I find humorous. Maybe the Scout leader was expected to bring a cooler or something.
